Reynolds Trail Rated wheels combine the flawless ride quality we're known for, and the durability you've come to expect, packaged at a pricepoint that re-defines the value of high-quality carbon composit rim mountain bike wheels. Our TR wheels use the same rims as our TRs line of wheels, but we build them with a more economical round spoke, brass nipples, and a hub shell that keeps the cost down. The freehub on the Reynolds TR3 hubs still offers ten degrees of engagement for quick accelerations. No matter your budget, wheels will still be the most important upgrade you make to your bike.

Hub is a crap on TR249

after 2 years a 2 months I made a BIG service and the Rear Hub on the TR249 ist dead. Few days ago the same thing by my friend. Its is now changed for DT Swiss rear hub.
The wheels are otherwise great, but the Hub is a crap.

Great wheel TR 249C, questionable hubs Reynolds TR3

In June 2020 I bought a Canyon Exceed CF 7 bike that came equipped with Reynolds TR 249 C wheels & per the information provided on the website for these wheels, they have the TR3 hubs installed. The wheels have been great, I haven't had a problem at all but looking at other wheels on the Hayes website, I stumbled onto the reviews for the TR309 wheels, which also have the TR3 hubs installed. After reading the reviews of the many problems that riders have had with the rear hub failing, exploding or seizing up, I am shocked that no safety precautions have been issued by Hayes/Reynolds or Canyon. I ride my Canyon Exceed quite a bit but now I question the safety of riding this bike because of the possibility of having a serious safety problem with the rear hub while riding. I will continue to ride my bike and hope I don't have any issues. One of the reviews of rear hub problems included the wheel installed on my bike, TR 249.

We are sorry to hear the concerns regarding your hubs. We take feedback we receive from our customers very seriously and will be forwarding your information to a member of our Customer Care Team to resolve directly with you.
