Replaced a Fox RP2 with the Mcleod on a 2012 Salsa Spearfish. The bike has never pedaled or ridden this well, ever! Going from 200+ PSI in the Fox to just 93 PSI in the Mcleod and it was easy to get setup right out of the box. I was able to swap mounting bushings from the Fox to the Mcleod easily to get it bolted on the bike. The 80mm of rear travel feels like so much more travel now being able to run less pressure with more progression. That's exactly what this bike needed. On the trail all the small chatter has disappeared and when things get rough the bike holds my line so much better whether I'm climbing or descending.
Mcleod has replaced my 2014 RS Monarch. Small bump sensitivity is way better. Much better traction as well. I'm still playing with PSI settings. I did remove negative spacer right off the bat, though.
A+++ Manitou, keep up great work!
This was the perfect refresh for a 10 year old manitou radium. Just getting back into mtb after a hiatus, the customer service team at Hayes was super helpful getting me into the right product for my needs and budget. This rides great, with firm support uphill and just the right squish downhill. It has made the ride fun again.
A little while ago I got in contact with the guys at Manitou and let them know that I needed a rear shock for a slopestyle bike.
They re-stacked the shims and gave it the proper tune to work with the higher air pressures needed for the suspension design.
This shock feels so good. A huge improvement over the stock offering. Now it has really turned my slope bike into a multi use weapon. With the shock open it runs like it is a short travel freeride bike, one to two clicks closed on the platform adjust and its perfect for racing and trail ripping, or lock it out and hit the pump track, groomed jumps, and BMX track with ease. Do not hesitate to get this shock if you are in need.
