Need help finding the right fork? Check out our Fork Fitment Guide

Mastodon is the real-world trail suspension for fatbikes. This fatbike fork delivers all-temperature performance, working equally well in winter or summer, soaking up chatter and big hits. Extended ride height versions fit up to 26×5.15” / 27.5×4.5” tires. Standard ride height versions fit up to 26×4” / 27.5×3.8” tires on the snow, or taking on shimmering hot sand like a pro. All-temperature performance born of frigid winter ride-testing. 34mm trail chassis is stiffer and steers more precisely than any other fatbike suspension fork.

•100mm and 120mm forks are both internally adjustable in 10mm increments from 100-140mm of travel.

    Huge Upgrade

I upgraded from the comp fork to the pro. It is much lighter and offers a smoother ride.

Great Fork, my Phat Squish feels like a Full Squish

    Easy Install
    Adds TONS of Squish
    Looks Boss

Dials are a little hard to adjust first time out

This thing makes my Phat Bike feel like a full suspension. I've hit drops, rocks, and roots and it feels great. There are multiple settings to look at and work with so it takes a little bit to dial it in. I also added extra air but that might be because my gauge is off.

    Huge Upgrade for the Fatty

My fatty came with a Bluto, and it was OK...not great, for sure, but workable. At least until I crashed hard and the fork never really recovered, so an upgrade was in order! And what an upgrade it is; the best fork I've had on a non-fatty is a Fox Float 38, and so far I like this one more than that, and that's quite a bit. I took it right out on the trails that I ride the most, so that I could best judge the performance and feel, and the bike is so much more capable now than it was it's hard to soaks up the terrain, which is full of rocks and roots here in the PNW with ease, and really steadies things up on the descents. And of course, it looks awesome it's going to force you to get rowdy enough to match it's appearance. Hayes is always great to deal with too, the fork shipped almost immediately and arrived well before I expected it to. I am stoked about this purchase!

    Excellent addition to my Fatty

The Mastodon was delivered quickly and in new condition at a great price. Although it is somewhat heavier than the carbon fork it replaces (duh) I have arthritis in my shoulders so the cushioning effect is wonderful. It makes a real difference descending down even moderately rough terrain. It allows much greater control descending or ascending over rough stuff. I still need to work on adjusting it properly but I think I am close. I installed it myself and needed to buy some tools and make one (pipe cutter, star nut seater, and PVC pipe tool to seat the crown race) and after some stress I was able to install it without too much difficulty. All in all well worth the price.
