Hayes Bicycle Group Limited Warranty 

 

This warranty applies to the original owner of any Hayes Bicycle Group (HBG) product, including those sold under the following brands: Hayes, Manitou, ProTaper, SUNringlé, Ringlé, Wheelsmith, and Reynolds. 

HBG will repair or replace — at its sole discretion — any component found by the factory to be defective in materials and/or workmanship within two (2) years from the date of original purchase. Warranty product will be repaired or replaced free of charge, when received at the factory or authorized distributor/service center with valid proof of purchase, freight prepaid. The cost of normal maintenance or replacement of service items, which are not determined to be defective, shall be paid for by the original owner.

Additional Warranty Coverages: 

 

Hayes Disc Brake Limited Lifetime Leakproof Warranty: 

After two years of ownership, the Hayes brake remains covered for master cylinder and caliper related fluid leaks. Additional components, repair related labor, and return shipping are no longer covered. 

Hayes Limited Lifetime Leakproof Warranty is applicable to the following models: 

  • Dominion 

  • Prime 

  • Dyno 

  • Radar 

Reynolds Limited Lifetime Warranty: 

Reynolds offers a limited lifetime warranty on carbon and alloy rims found by the factory to be defective in materials and/or workmanship. This limited lifetime warranty covers the Reynolds branded rim if damage occurs while riding in normal conditions and within the intended design parameters. During the first two years of ownership, when returned to Hayes Bicycle Group or an authorized distributor/service center, we will also cover: 

  • Rim, hub, spoke and nipple repair/replacement 

  • Wheel build labor 

  • Return shipping 

Shipping to HBG or dealer/service center must be prepaid 

After two years of ownership, the Reynolds branded rim continues to be covered for defective materials and/or workmanship when damage occurs while riding in normal conditions and within the intended design parameters. Other wheel components (hubs, spokes, nipples, etc), labor, and return shipping are no longer covered.  

Alloy specific rim warranty coverage is as follows: 

  • Denting = keep riding or crash replacement 

  • Denting + cracking = warranty 

  • Spoke hole cracking = warranty 

  • Rim seam separation = warranty 

     

Exclusions, Limitations, and Disclaimers: 

 

The sole remedy available under all implied warranties is the repair or replacement of defective parts with components of equal or greater value, as determined by Hayes Bicycle Group. In addition, warranty for HBG product, including Hayes Lifetime Leakproof Warranty, and Reynolds Lifetime Warranty does not cover: 

  • Normal wear and tear or routine maintenance. 

  • Cosmetic damage (scratches, fading, decals). 

  • Carbon rim damage due to excessive external heat (vehicle exhaust, etc). 

  • Damage from crashes, misuse, abuse, or neglect. 

  • Installation or labor costs (e.g., dealer assembly). 

  • Any part or product altered or modified. 

  • Use of incompatible or non-HBG parts, fluids, or other materials. 

  • Any product used outside normal riding conditions and/or intended design use. 

  • Failure to follow the instructions in the product manual. 

  • Non-bicycle components such as soft goods, water bottles, coolers, etc., unless otherwise explicitly stated. 

Limitations: 

  • Proof of purchase (component or complete bicycle) is required to process a warranty. 

  • This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original owner. 

  • It is limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts only. 

  • Products with custom finishes will be serviced with the most applicable replacement option available. 

Legal Notices and Disclaimers: 

  • Hayes Bicycle Group and its employees, officers, representatives, agents, or affiliates are not liable for incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, economic loss, or other legal theory.  

  • Hayes Bicycle Group’s liability will under no circumstances exceed the actual amount paid by the original owner for the defective product or service so purchased. 

  • Hayes Bicycle Group reserves the right to deny any warranty claim that we, HBG, at our sole discretion, determine to be abusive, fraudulent, or inconsistent with the terms defined herein. 

  • This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and those rights may vary from state to state and country to country. If any portion of this warranty is deemed invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law, it shall be modified to be valid and enforceable as permitted by such law. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights. The English version of the warranty shall prevail. 

  • This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other warranties, and all other warranty claims not included herein are void. Cutomers in countries other than the USA should contact their dealer or local HBG distributor.
