Running clinchers on my Reynolds Strikes. I ordered tubeless tape and these rim strips. Decided to try the rim strips instead of the tubeless tape because it's so much easier to deal with. I had to use Goo Gone on the old tubeless tape to get all the dumb tubeless sticky adhesive off, that was a lame task. I notice that tubeless tape tends to rip and tear with flats or tire changes. These rim strips are the way to go if you're running old school clinchers on the road.
Does what it is supposed to do, period. I just replaced the Reynolds rim strips with a new set on my 6 year old Reynolds Attack wheelset. The old set were still in good condition and were not dry rotted. I should not have waited so long to replace these, but I installed new tubes and tires ($$$) so it’s best to have new rim strips too.
