I had to order a new SRC alloy microspline freehub as two of the internal cartridge bearings completely failed. The bike is just 2 years old and had 3297 miles on it. I do not jump, race, ride through water or even ride downhill. It was just complete destruction of two of the cartridge bearings inside the hub. I had to replace the hub and the alloy axle. That is a very short life for a freehub.
It would be nice if Hayes would offer the same warranty (2years) in the United States as they do in Europe.
The hub worked well but I cannot recommend something that fails when an 80 year old 165Lb man riding in Florida can destroy it.
If Hayes has knowledge of bad or inferior bearings then they should step up to the plate, contact me and replace the items.
I was not sure of the correct specifications on my bike Freehub ,after an email with Hayes did received a promptly reply with the part number that will fit
SUN-RINGLER SRX 148 the process was very smooth, the new part fit and work correctly. No issues with the installation or part, really appreciate the HAYES good service.
The product is as described and working well so far. The best part is Hayes customer service, they helped me find the correct part that I needed and always respond promptly to questions. Love supporting people who do good business!!!
Allows to install better 12speed cassettes than what is available in HG, it relies on simple tightening of parts you can handle with basic household tools. Do not over tighten as the locknuts compress the bearings. Drop some oil on the pawls, a film of grease on the seal and you are good to go. Aluminium or steel? I got the alu, will see how it lasts (XC use) but I don't think it will be a problem if everything (cassette) is locked on correctly.
Les escribí por un problema en microspline y la atención al cliente fue espectacular.
He quedado muy sorprendido con el buen hacer de esta gente.
