Kept me 'ready for shreddy' on a budget, and a modest upgrade

On top of providing a modest upgrade for a bike at a very fair price, I think Hayes is doing the MTB community a very big service by providing a component that can be fitted on older generations of bikes, to meet the specifications. That is hard to find right now! As far as the performance of the Markhor Fork, it is definitely a "ground control" oriented suspension, and keeps me attached to my local singletrack terrain pretty well. The hardware for my Shimano M series brake did not match up, so my local bike shop had to dig for the right bolts. Tire clearance is ideal!! They shipped this fork out to me faster than a jack rabbit. Nice!

Love these forks! Great price & excellent performance. Have thrown everything at them and still good as new! Highly recommend. Have also bought for friends upgrades and they love them just as much.

Thanks for the great review! #rideon

The fork is perfect. But there is one big downside.. i had to repair IT after 1 year of use. And 10 months later again. The fork doesn't use al of hiss travel. Even without air.

      Decent forks for the price.

Norco Storm 29r, swapped out the Suntour XCMs for these forks. Never owned Manitou forks, always had Marzocchi but for the price gotta be better than stiff, heavy Suntour. Have been riding single trails both grave, rocky and black diamond and no problems, full travel and no bottoming out. Adjust the air and rebound and a good fork on a budget. Smooth, plush and quiet.

Great performance with one major issues.

I’m running a 120mm Markhor on my Specialized Rockhopper and while it works very well and has decent support, I’m only getting half the travel out of it even when the fork is fully open. When facing large drops that abrupt stop after roughly 60mm of travel is jarring.
